Herbal Remedies for Anxiety.
There are two types of books about
medicating your way out of anxiety, panic attacks and agoraphobia.
The ones that tell you about conventional medicine and the ones that
temp to you to more natural, “safer”, and more effective
cures through herbs and homoeopathy. Whether you believe in the power
of complimentary medicine or nutrition when it comes to anxiety and
panic attacks is up to you. There are several good books on each
subject.

Bloomfield's Healing Anxiety With Herbs
is the classic anti-anxiety herb book. The
author claims that his prescriptions are safer and often work better.
He provides
dosage information on kava kava, valerian root, ginkgo,
ginseng, liquorice root, milk thistle, and many other natural
remedies for anxiety, nervousness, and insomnia. It also has
sections on breathing and relaxation.
I would also look at the Food
Mood Handbook
by Geary. It has a seemingly endless amount of
information on how what you eat and drink (or don't!) effects your
levels of anxiety, stress and happiness. Certainly diet, and specifically control of blood sugar can ber very important when tackling both anxiety and panic. This book has much more information than you will get from your doctor.
I wouldn't buy books on drug therapy. Whether you are thinking
of going on them or trying to get off them speak to your doctor or
therapist, or a support group.
